Dutch alternative popband 'Long Evans' are regrouping for a new album and international tour, both under the title 'music 2.0'

Their new album will consist of an empty CD-R on which you can record your own music. The band are currently rehearsing their new material for the live performances. they plan to stare mindlessly into a void while the audience generates it's own content in the 'Long Evans environment'.

As a tribute to all those brave artistic souls we have now opened up the special CultBlender on Flickr page so we'll never get lost in your bookmarks again. Want to see the most recent works of CultBlender artists? Just follow the link.

Chilean chills

We discovered Hernan Apablaza's artwork through Flickr (where he resides under the name 'Freizeit'). His works have a direct, rough and hypnotic quality to them, we just kept on going back to them to have a another look. When we interviewed him we found out he also does great video-work, so that's another treat for you.

Joey Monsoon

Streetart is hot. Which is good for all those talented streetartists out there who can finally make something of a living of their work (and not just end up in jail). But when things start to commercialise, there is always the danger that galleries and artshows get swamped with, well, 'not so good' art. No danger of that with the works of Joey Monsoon. We are officially fans. Hopefully, after reading this, you will be too.

Kendrick Mar

Wednesday, 2 January 2008

We hope to be able to inspire you this year and start with an 'online expo' by New York based artist Kendrick Mar. Kendrick's works make a quick and lasting impression. His oil paintings have that iconic quality that make them breathtaking to look at on your computerscreen as well. You can practically feel the distress and emotional discomfort that he gives form to on canvas. Never before has feeling bad, looked so good.

New Animation added: Human X Nature

Tuesday, 20 November 2007

Who said that the electronic age makes it easy to start up your own organisation? The Human >< Nature project defies all that. It invloves a lot of hardcore offline work, which we're still looking to find a good online way for to keep you posted.

Anyway; We've uploaded a Flash animation as a sort of 'moving sketch'. for your inspiration. Have a look, get inspired, upload you own stuff. Be there or be square!

Good news everybody, we've put a great new project online for your viewing pleasure. A very inspiring collaboration of Chris Groeneveld and JMDKM, who have undertaken an epic moped journey through the Netherlands. They have turned their experiences into a book, for which they have granted CultBlender the exclusive online scoop. We will keep you posted on the printed version when it gets published.

NEW-NEW!-NEW!-NEW! (better & improved flavours)

On popular demand: We've added some extra works to this exposition. Check it out!

Does all art have to be political in order to be relevant? Or is there something to be said for just wanting to create art? A deep desire to 'simply' develop something beautiful? The Polish artist Rafal Piotr Karcz works with mixed media and we are proud to show you some of his works in watercolours.
